About Psaromoura beach (Agia Pelagia) on Crete

Psaromoura beach is situated at the western end of the Agia Pelagia region and literally translates as fish face bay. It is a hidden treasure boasting sparkling waters and beautiful views. The beach is reached by one road that starts between the west end of Capsis Elite Resort Hotel and Perla Hotel (its just opposite Apostolis Supermarket), which takes you through many fields where locals grow vegetables such as courgettes and aubergines. It is a change to see from the regular fields of olive trees and vines which are not so well suited to the sea air here. Another way to arrive to the beach of Psaromoura is from a walking path from the Parking area of Peninsula Hotel in Mononaftis bay.

As you approach the bay you will pass several tavernas, cool cafe bars, small and large hotels. The road is quite narrow but ends to a relatively large Parking area - a flat land field right above the beach of Psaromoura. There is a steep walk down to the beach, which means a steep walk back up but it is definitely worth making the effort. Before you start your journey down, take a moment to stand and admire the breathtaking scenery.

It is worth mentioning that there is a small snack bar on the beach of Psaromoura, a beach bar, so you really have everything you need if you want to spend the all day here. Psaromoura Beach is small and perfectly formed, offers sunbeds and parasols and fantastic swimming and snorkelling in clear, calm, sheltered waters. The beach of Psaromoura is probably the favourite one of young couples, companies of friends and families alike as it offers amazing clear waters with realy beatyful colors and scenery. The whole area of Agia Pelagia is gifted with several points of exteme beauty but Psaromoura denitively makes it in the top 5.

There is a water sports facility on the beach offering pedalo boat and paddleboard hire or you can simply sit back and enjoy an ice cold beer from the beach bar. At the end of the day what better way to recover from the steep walk back up from the beach, than to sit and enjoy a cocktail or dinner at one of the bars or restaurants. Psaramouda truly is picture postcard perfect!

The beach of Psaromoura is the 7th longest beach of the area of Agia Pelagia, it is 64m long but is quite a wide beach.

Psaromoura confines in south with Kladissos beach (the beach surrounded by "Out of the Blue" Capsis Elite Resort Hotel) and on the eastern part with the beach/Beach Bar of Peninsula Hotel - practically a big platform by the very edge of the sea, build on the end of the steep hill rock where the Peninsula Hotel is constructed on the top). A great Beach Bar is perched on the inside of the cliff, is very organised, offers great, friendly service and amenities. This Beach Bar/platform is called Tsimento - Peninsula Beach. At the eastern corner of this beach platform you can find the 2nd station of BlueWaterClub Boat Rental Services and hire a boat to explore the wider area and several, otherwise unreachable by car or feet walking, smaller, hidden, beaches and creeks the region has to offer. Right next to Tsimento Pensinsula Beach follows the beach of Mononaftis Bay, at a very close distance.

Last, but not least, visit the area above Psaromoura Beach, the only but absolutely excellent Restaurant Bar of the area, YAMAS, built with care and excellent taste, offers particular dishes and drinks in a fresh / Greek Islands style environment not to mention the truly unique panoramic views of the whole area. There are also a mini market and two souvenir, gifts shops in the area as well as a jewelry shop - MARY Jewels & Boutique.
